On equipped vehicles, the forward-facing camera mounted behind your windshield powers systems like lane departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control. When your windshield is replaced, that camera is moved — even a tiny shift changes what it sees. That's why it must be recalibrated to the manufacturer's specifications before the vehicle goes back on the road.

What is ADAS calibration?

ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) calibration is the process of realigning your vehicle's safety cameras and sensors so they read the road accurately again. There are two types:

• Static calibration — performed in our shop using manufacturer-specific targets and diagnostic equipment, with the vehicle stationary.

• Dynamic calibration — performed on the road at specified speeds, using professional diagnostic tools to complete the manufacturer's drive cycle.

Many vehicles require one or both. We follow the vehicle manufacturer's procedure exactly, every time.

When is calibration required?

• After a windshield replacement on any ADAS-equipped vehicle

• After certain collision repairs near cameras or sensors

• When a dashboard warning indicates a camera or sensor fault
